The shoot of Kunchacko Boban and Joju George-starrer Pada has finally wrapped up. The movie, which is directed by Kamal KM, had begun production in May 2019 in Thrissur but had been delayed due to the pandemic. It finally concluded its shoot on Tuesday.
Prakash Raj, Jagadeesh, Santosh Keezhattoor and Shankar Ramakrishnan were part of the final schedule of the movie that was shot in the past week. The team had posted photos of the final day including cutting a cake to celebrate the occasion.
The multi-starrer has Kunchacko Boban, Joju George, Vinayakan and Dileesh Pothan in the lead. Most of the cast had wrapped up their portions in August 2019.
Kunchacko had earlier told Kochi Times that he plays a Ayyankali activist in the movie, which is based on a true incident in 1996 when WR Reddy, the then district collector of Palakkad, was held hostage in his chamber by four members of the Ayyankali Pada.
Prakash Raj seems to be playing Reddy’s character in the film. There were also reports that Mammootty is scheduled to do a cameo in Pada, but this has not been confirmed yet. Prakash Raj, who had recently acted in Malayalam films such as Odiyan, 9 and Athiran, will next be seen in Netflix anthology Navarasa, which is releasing on August 6.
Meanwhile, Pada also has TG Ravi and Salim Kumar. The film’s director Kamal KM had earlier helmed critically acclaimed movies such as ID and Alif. The film’s cinematography is by Samir Thahir.
