Prakash Raj joins SS Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu's biggie, to play THIS role in the adventure thriller

Varanasi is SS Rajamouli's new film, which is busy with its shoot in Hyderabad. Some key scenes featuring Mahesh Babu are being canned at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, in a specially erected set. 

Prakash Raj to play a key role in Varanasi

Meanwhile, we have come to know that versatile actor Prakash Raj has been roped in to play a key role in the film. Reports suggest that he will be seen as Mahesh Babu's father in the adventure thriller and will soon join the sets of the film.

Prakash Raj had earlier played a key role in SS Rajamouli's Vikramarkudu, which was a smash hit at the box office. After a very long gap, he is teaming up once again with Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu for a big project.

Prakash Raj is a powerful actor, but due to his off-screen issues, he has been a bit away from Telugu films. Bagging a key role in Rajamouli's next film could change things around for him 

Ever since the teaser of Varanasi was released, there has been solid buzz around the film, and everyone is eager to know who else is part of the cast. MM Keeravani has composed the music for this film, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, the Malayalam superstar, plays the main villain in the big-budget venture.

Huge demand for Varanasi's OTT rights

In the last few days, news has surfaced that multiple platforms have approached the makers for the OTT rights to the film and have offered a shocking amount to acquire the digital rights. 

Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays the female lead in this film, which is slated for release in the summer of 2027. Mahesh Babu has pinned all his hopes on this project and has not signed any other film until he wraps up Varanasi.
