India is over the moon! Today, India has created history as it became the first country to land on the South Pole of the lunar surface. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Indians and space scientists for the momentous achievement.

Minutes after this news surfaced, popular Bollywood actor and producer Prakash Raj lauded Chandrayaan-3 for its terrific feat. “PROUD MOMENT for INDIA and to Humankind... Thank you #ISRO #Chandrayaan3 #VikramLander and to everyone who contributed to making this happen... may this guide us to Explore and Celebrate the mystery of our UNIVERSE... #justasking,” wrote Prakash on the microblogging site X.

This piece of information holds significance as two days ago, Prakash Raj was booked by police in Karnataka for allegedly mocking the country’s ambitious Chandrayaan-3 mission.

News agency ANI reported that the actor was booked in a police station of Karnataka's Bagalkot district over a social media post in which he attached a caricature of a man drinking tea in a rural space while watching the Chandrayaan-3 land on the moon. A section of netizens believed that the caricature of the man draws its resemblance to K Sivan – the former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

Chandrayaan-2, the predecessor of Chandrayaan 3, was launched under Sivan's tenure as ISRO chief in September 2019. The mission had failed in the final stages when Vikram Lander lost communication with the ground state just 2.1 kilometers above the Moon, leaving Indians dejected.

The probe on Prakash Raj is underway.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Shraddha Kapoor, Yami Gautam, Sunny Leone, Anushka Sharma, popular cricketer Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and others have appreciated Indians on Chandrayaan-3 landing safely on the surface of the moon.

India is now the fourth country in the world to achieve this feat after the United States, Russia, and China. Also, India is now the only country in the world to land on the lunar South Pole.
