It’s no secret that Dhyan Sreenivasan’s scripts have always drawn from his personal experiences. His latest script Prakashan Parakkatte seems to present more fun incidents from his life and in particular, explore the bond between a father and a teenage son.

The teaser of the movie, which has Mathew Thomas and Dileesh Pothan in lead roles, was released by the makers on May 8 and promises to be a fun entertainer set against a rural backdrop. It starts off with Mathew’s character having a conversation with his father about taking his life seriously and then goes on to show the various characters in the film as well as the rebellious streak of the teenager who even claims to “head to Bombay” to chase his goal.

In an earlier interview with Kochi Times, the film’s debutant director Shahad had said that Prakashan Parakkaatte revolves around a youngster’s dream, and travels through the various relationships that shape him as a person and his goals. Told through humour, the family drama had completed shooting last year with North Kerala being its prime location.

Mathew, meanwhile, will next be seen in Jo and Jo, which is also directed by a debutant. The film, helmed by Arun D Jose, will see the young actor team up with Thaneer Mathan Dinangal co-star Naslen Gafoor. Nikhila Vimal plays the female protagonist in the film, which revolves around the frustrations of a family after they are forced to spend extended time together during the pandemic lockdown. The coming-of-age comedy entertainer will hit theatres on May 13.
