Actor Pramod’s career is most definitely on the upswing, since his outing as Udaal Babu Rao in the Rohit Padaki directorial Rathnan Prapancha. Although it was a supporting role in the Dhananjaya-led ensemble cast film, Pramod was unanimously picked out as the star performer by audiences and critics alike. Since then, the Premiere Padmini actor has done a massy commercial flick called English Manja, the trailer of which came out on his birthday recently. “English Manja is a film I started soon after Rathnan Prapancha, which took us nearly 75 days to complete. It is very different from the films I have done so far, be it Premiere Padmini, Geetha Bangle Store or Udgharsha. It’s a big film for me, in terms of the scale of production. English Manja is special for me because this is my first outing in a title role. It is an out-and-out commercial action film with 4-5 major stunt sequences, songs, etc. and will give me a mass-hero image,” he has told us.
Currently shooting for Alankara Vidyarthi, a campus romantic comedy about a below average student, who just about clears his PUC and manages to get into an engineering college for the girl he likes, the narrative revolves around this plot point, although there is a small thriller element as well, Pramod is also committed to two more films by producer Shruti Naidu, under her home banner, the Premiere Padmini sequel and an untitled youthful entertainer to be directed by Ramesh Indira, which will take off by mid-2022.
The latest we hear is that Pramod will also be a part of Rajaru-fame director Gireesh Mulimani untitled travel-based film, in which he will be joined by Pruthvi Ambaar. The team, we hear is looking at going on floors in early March, with the narrative spanning between Bengaluru and Vijayapura, in a single 60-day schedule, provided the pandemic subsides a bit by then. According to a report, the team will then be left with a few vital sequences that have to be shot during the monsoon, later in the year.
