Only days ago, Premier Padmini and Rathnan Prapancha fame actor Pramod had announced that he’d finished his next, English Manja, an out-and-out commercial entertainer that has a rowdyism subject. “English Manja is a film I started soon after Rathnan Prapancha, which took nearly 75 days to complete. It’s a big film for me, in terms of the scale of production. English Manja is special for me because this is my first outing in a title role. It is an out-and-out commercial action film with 4-5 major stunt sequences, songs, etc. and will give me a mass-hero image,” said Pramod in an earlier interaction with us, adding that it was one of two other films he had signed before Rathnan Prapancha.
The second, is Alankar Vidyarthi, a rom-com that kickstarted on December 10. The film is being directed by debutant Keshav, an associate of director Suni. “This is a campus romantic comedy about a below average student, who just about clears his PUC and manages to get into an engineering college for the girl he likes. The narrative revolves around this plot point, although there is a small thriller element as well. This film will have no action at all and runs only on humour,” explained the actor.
On the occasion of the film’s muhurtha, the makers had released a poster in a PUC marks card format to highlight the fact that the protagonist is a ‘just-pass’ kind of student, who scrapes through to engineering college, driven by his infatuation for the class topper. Pramod will be paired with Dear Sathya heroine, Archana Kottige in this romantic comedy, which will also have Rajinikanth, Sudha Belawadi and Achyuth Kumar in pivotal roles. Alankaar Vidhyarthi is being jointly produced by Rohith Prasanna, Yogesh Sri Ram, and Madhu Aradhya.
While the actor is also committed to the Premier Padmini sequel, he had earlier told us that he has not had any new signings since Rathnan Prapancha, as a lot of the offers were of a similar type.
