Prashanth Neel dedicates ‘good parts’ of KGF: Chapter 2 to late Puneeth Rajkumar

Prashanth Neel has launched KGF: Chapter 2’s trailer but not without remembering late Puneeth Rajkumar. The filmmaker has in fact dedicated the good parts of his upcoming film to the late actor. Not just that, he has dedicated his eight years of good work to Puneeth.

At the trailer launch event, Prashanth thanked Puneeth’s brother Shiva Rajkumar for gracing the event. He even called Shiva an ‘absolute legend’ of the Kannada film industry (Sandalwood).

With a throat full, Prashanth then went on to talk about Puneeth. “Everything good about the movie. Everything that we have done good over the last eight years, I want to dedicate it to Puneeth Rajkumar sir,” he said.

As soon as Prashanth made the statement, everyone from the crowd lauded him for the move. The filmmaker tries to talk about ‘appu sir’ but the hooting lasted for a good few minutes. Nonetheless, he went on to add, “We all miss him immensely. I really hope we’ve done justice for that dedication.”

Yash is back as Rocky Bhai in KGF: Chapter 2. This time he faces tough competition in the form of Adheera, played by Sanjay Dutt.

Srinidhi Shetty returns in the role of his lover, Reena. The movie also stars Raveena Tandon as politician Ramika Sen and Prakash Raj as Vijayendra.

KGF: 2 promises more violence and some powerful filmy dialogues that could steal the show. The movie is also one of the most-awaited in especially the Hindi and Kannada film industry.

Directed by Prashanth, KGF: Chapter 2 will release in theatres on April 12. The movie will be released in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam.

The OTT release date and platform for KGF: Chapter 2 is yet to be announced. The film can be released on Amazon Prime Video a la KGF: Chapter 1.
