Actor Varun Tej, who has had mixed 2022 with Ghani and F3 not performing as per expectations, has commenced work on multiple projects. The first among them to hit screens will be an action thriller with The Ghost director Praveen Sattaru, which was referred to as VT12 for a long time. Commemorating Varun Tej’s birthday, the film’s motion poster, title were launched today.
VT12 has been officially titled Gandeevadhaari Arjuna. In the film’s motion poster, the makers take us through a monument where there’s gun-firing and a series of bomb blasts, with Varun Tej looking his stylish best in a slick action avatar while donning a black jacket and holding a gun in his hand. The major surprise here is Mickey J Meyer’s stunning background score and it’s good to see the composer reinvent himself in a genre quite alien to him.
Varun Tej is cast as a security officer in the film who strategises and rescues people from potentially dangerous situations. In a chat with Idlebrain.com, Praveen Sattaru said Arjuna is his fiercest when he holds a bow (Gandeevam) and is ready to strike, which made him finalise the title. “It’s apt for the story I’m discussing,” he said. The makers have already wrapped up 50% of its shoot in just 27 days.
The film, whose shoot commenced in October 2022, is being predominantly filmed in London and other parts of the UK, with the tale unfolding in the backdrop of a UN summit around climate change. “While action is a major part of the narrative, we’re trying to discuss the horrors of climate change that’s a major threat to human race.”
Gandeevadhari Arjuna is another 30-35 shoot days away from completion. Select portions will be shot at New Delhi and Uttarakhand as well. Produced by Bvsn Prasad under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra, the film is expected to release in the second half of 2023. Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the thriller.
