Pravinkoodu Shappu OTT release date: Soubin Shahir and Basil Joseph’s dark comedy, mystery thriller is all set to begin streaming on Sony LIV and OTTplay Premium in April

It’s been raining updates about Malayalam star Basil Joseph’s movies this week – his theatrical as well as OTT releases. The actor, whose latest film Ponman began streaming on JioHotstar on March 14, is also part of Pravinkoodu Shappu – which had released in theatres in February 2025.
The latter, which is helmed by Sreeraj Sreenivasan, is a mystery thriller with elements of dark comedy that would remind fans of Hercule Poirot books and movies. Pravinkoodu Shappu will begin streaming on Sony LIV and OTTplay Premium from April 11.

Pravinkoodu Shappu OTT release date: Where to watch Basil Joseph’s film online
The film, which also has Chandini Sreedharan, Chemban Vinod Jose and Shivajith Nambiar, will begin streaming in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada from April 11, Sony LIV had announced through their social media pages.
This is after Basil was trending online, for the teaser of his latest theatrical release Maranamass as well as the OTT release of Ponman, which is directed by Jothish Shankar and is a drama-thriller about the undying spirit of underdogs.
Pravinkoodu Shappu has Basil essaying the role of a police officer, who is brought in to investigate the death of a toddy shop owner. After the crime scene is messed up those inside the premises while his death happened, the sub inspector goes about questioning the various suspects. But is the culprit even smarter than the shrewd cop?
