Premalu Telugu off to a great start on Aha, fans go gaga over Mamitha Baiju after rom-com’s OTT release

Premalu, starring Mamitha Baiju and Naslen, is one of the biggest hits in recent times. The Malayalam romantic comedy was released in Telugu by acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli's son, SS Karthikeya. The film ended as a massive hit and made just over Rs 17 crore share in Telugu states, which is the highest ever for a Malayalam dubbed film.

Premalu Telugu is now streaming on Aha

We, at OTTplay, have already revealed that Aha has bagged the Telugu OTT rights to the film and started streaming Premalu on April 12, 2024. Well, the latest news is that Premalu has started with a bang on Aha. Within just two days of its release, the word is that Premalu is nearing its 50 million views already. This is something unheard of for any Malayalam dubbed film in Telugu.

Premalu Telugu takes a solid start on Aha

Ever since the news came out that Premalu would premiere on Aha, there has been solid hype for the film's digital release. Many who did not watch the film on the big screen were eager to watch it, and since its digital premiere, people have been making a beeline to Aha to see the rom-com. The great response to the film is something unheard of. 

One of the sources close to Aha says that they expected a solid start, but the way the film is garnering views is unheard of. Mamitha Baiju, the female lead in Premalu, has become a sensation of sorts as fans are pasting pictures, clips, and scenes featuring Mamitha on social media.

As the film has a Hyderabad backdrop, fans in Telugu states are even more curious to watch it. Premalu is a romantic drama that has romance and comedy in equal measure. Directed by Girish AD, the movie also stars Sangeet Pratap, Shyam Mohan M, Meenakshi Raveendran, Akhila Bhargavan, Althaf Salim, and Mathew Thomas in key roles.
