The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Prempaatta, have dropped its first poster announcing its title. During a puja ceremony held in Kochi, they also confirmed the genre of the movie, which is expected to kickstart soon.
Aamir Pallikal, the film's director, disclosed that Lijeesh Kumar wrote the screenplay for this love drama set on a college campus. The setting of this movie will be an NSS camp, which will be the first time in Malayalam cinema. The story, according to Aamir, embodies the spirit of college life, particularly the vitality of young minds. Through Prempaatta, he hopes the movie would evoke feelings of pleasant nostalgia and a connection to one's college times.
Saiju Kurup and Mamta Mohandas participated in the ceremony, which increased interest in the film even though the cast has not yet been announced. The pair became well-known for their roles in the 2005 movie, Mayookam. Later, they costarred in the film Forensic, starring Tovino Thomas. The makers posted pictures from Prempaatta's puja ceremony on social media.

The young director is well-known for helming Ayisha and Extra Decent (ED). The protagonist of ED is Binu, a middle-aged man who lives with his family. But things change as he learns some grave truths about his "normal" family. While many criticised the inconsistent screenplay, they praised Suraj Venjaramoodu's performance after the film's theatrical debut last year.
Ayisha marked Aamir's directing debut. The film is multilingual in Malayalam and Arabic and was primarily filmed in the United Arab Emirates. The moving tale of a single mother who accepts a job as a domestic servant in Riyadh is told in the Manju Warrier-starrer. The film, which is set in 1988, tells the story of her struggles before she is eventually employed as the "gaddama" at a palace there. The endearing relationship between Ayisha and her boss is then depicted in the movie. You may watch both films on Amazon Prime Video. OTTplay Premium subscribers can also watch the films by topping up their plans to include Prime Video.
