The film will instead take on Golden Star Ganesh’s Sakath at the box office.

The team of Kannada actor Nenapirali Prem’s milestone 25th film had announced October 29 as its release date, days before it was even censored and ready to be screened. Yet, with only days to go for the release, they have now decided to hold on to it for two more weeks and announced a new release date on Monday. According to Prem’s latest social media post, Premam Poojyam will hit theatres on November 12, a decision the team arrived at taking into account the availability of movie halls, what with the mid-October releases Kotigobba 3 and Salaga doing well at the box office, and another biggie, Shivarajkumar’s much-anticipated Bhajarangi 2 ready to release on October 29.
According to the makers, Salaga and Kotigobba 3 are expected to be in theatres for at least another couple of weeks, and with Bhajarangi 2 also in the mix, the logistics of theatre availability was not working out for them and hence, they decided to push the release ahead.
The new date, November 12, is also when Golden Star Ganesh’s film with director Suni is slated to release. The buzz in Gandhinagar circles is that at least two other smaller Kannada films are also releasing on the same day. Premam Poojyam, as of now, comes one week after Manu Ravichandran’s Mugilpete, and one week ahead of Raj B Shettys’ Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana, so the team may face paucity of movie halls even then. But the problem right now, say sources, is that there are big films lined up almost every week, until February at least, so pushing Premam Poojyam too far ahead is also not a good move. Sources add that it was expected that the team would avoid a clash with Bhajarangi 2.
