Ek Love Ya is Kannada director-actor Prem’s latest directorial, in which he is introducing his brother-in-law and Rakshitha’s brother, Raanna to Sandalwood. The film was earlier slated to release on January 21, but with theatres operational only at 50% and spiking Covid cases in the state at the time, Prem decided to push the release ahead. A little while ago, Prem took to social media to announce the film’s release as well as trailer launch dates.

So, the trailer of the film, which also stars Rachita Ram and Reeshma Nanaiah, and has music by Arjun Janya, will come out on February 10. Ek Love Ya will then hit theatres two weeks later on February 24. Prem wrote that he wanted to freeze March 4th for the release, but was advised by exhibitors to advance it to late February, as college exam season begins in March and Ek Love Ya is a film meant for the youth. “We are happy & proud to announce our #Ekloveya movie releasing on #24thFeb2022 and theatrical trailer on 10th Feb 2022 5pm at Mysore. Let’s celebrate the musical visuals,” he wrote, along with a teaser comprising glimpses from the songs that have been released and been topping charts since, like the Armaan Malik Yaare Yaare, among others. The team, we hear, will release two more songs before the film’s theatrical outing on February 24.

Ek Love Ya’s February 24 release plan comes days after Kiccha Sudeep’s Vikrant Rona was pushed ahead from this date. Prem’s film is now in a direct box-office clash with actor-director MG Srinivas’ romantic comedy Old Monk. As of today, there is still no word on when theatres will be allowed to operate at 100% capacity, but the buzz in Sandalwood circles is that an announcement is expected soon, which is giving filmmakers here the confidence to announce their release plans.
