Annu Kapoor, Bhanu Uday, Udit Arora, Pranay Pachauri and Bidita Bag-starrer Crash Course are all set to be released on Amazon Prime on August 5. Created by Manish Hariprasad and directed by Vijay Maurya, the coming-of-age series is produced by Owlet Films. The 10-episode series that delves into two rival coaching centres will also feature an ensemble cast of eight fresh faces – Mohit Solanki, Hridhu Haroon, Anushka Kaushik, Riddhi Kumar, Bhavesh Balchandani, Aryan Singh, Hetal Gada and Anvesha Vij.
Earlier in April, Amazon Prime India announced 40 new titles in multiple languages, including Telugu and Tamil, across India. Several of the Prime’s acclaimed series – Pankaj Tripathi’s Mirzapur, Jaideep Ahlawat’s Paatal Lok, Shobhita Dhulipala-starrer Made In Heaven and others were slated to get the next season. Along with the renewal of these hit series, the event also announced several new series, including Bambai Meri Jaan, Call me Baby, Dahaad, Naga Chaitanya starrer Dhootha, Shahid Kapoor starrer Farzi and Annu Kapoor’s Crash Course.
In the backdrop of these two warring coaching institutes and the young students who are preparing for their competitive exams, the eight new students experience friendship, love, heartbreaks, peer pressure and lose the innocence of youth as they are unwillingly pulled into the power battle between the two centres.
Aparna Purohit, head of India Originals, Amazon Prime Video, said, “Crash Course is a bittersweet coming-of-age story that will resonate with all audiences across different geographies and age groups. Each one of us has been a student at some point in our life and Crash Course is filled with moments that will take our customers back to their days of being a student.” She further added that Crash Course is a sincere and relatable story of student life when one is dealing with fiercely competitive entrance exams, struggling to live on their own, negotiating with friendship, discovering love and are just forced to grow up.
Prime members in India and across 240 countries and territories can stream the series from August 5.
