The film, which hit the big screen on May 9, has been successfully running in theatres for over 25 days. It has reportedly made over Rs 16 crore in Kerala and Rs 95 lakh across other states in India. In the meantime, Prince and Family made over Rs 5 crore worldwide, bringing their total box office receipts to over Rs 22.90 crore. Additionally, it has proven to be Dileep's only box office success following Ramaleela in 2017.

Even though Dileep was arrested for conspiracy in the infamous actress abduction case in 2017, Ramaleela, which was released in September the same year, was a box office success. On the whole, the movie brought about ₹55 crore. The movie was the highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2017. Several of the C.I.D. Moosa star's previous films, including Pavi Caretaker, Thangam, and Subharathri, did not meet both audience and box revenue expectations. Some haven't been released on OTT yet.

Prince Chakkalakkal, who is unmarried and his family's only provider, is the main character of the movie. He struggles to find a life mate, which makes him feel miserable and lonesome. But Prince's and his loved ones' life are soon turned upside down by a proposal from a matrimonial website. Prince and Family begins by showcasing the Ishtam star's versatility in managing humour, but it progressively shifts gears in the second half to discuss the negative aspects of social media.

Director Binto Stephen has brought Dileep back to life in a part that Malayalis have always loved watching him portray through Prince and Family, according to OTTplay's review. It is entertaining to watch the actor play an easy-going role, just like he used to perform before.
