In this new timeline, the young Queen Charlotte is portrayed by India Amarteifio of Line of Duty fame.
The Netflix official logline described the series that in the Bridgerton-verse prologue, which is centred on Queen Charlotte's ascent to fame and dominance, describes how the young Queen's marriage to King George triggered a wonderful love story as well as a social revolution, resulting in the world of the Ton that the characters in Bridgerton inherited.
While making the announcement, the official Instagram page of Bridgerton shared Amaeteifo's first look and wrote, "Dearest readers, rejoice in a formal introduction to royalty herself, India Amarteifio, who, along with the incomparable duo of Golda Rosheuvel and Adjoa Andoh, will reveal the origins of Your Majesty. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is on the way, indeed."
In the next prequel series, Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, and Ruth Gemmell will all return in their respective roles as the elder Queen Charlotte and Lady Agatha Danbury, respectively.
