Prithviraj Sukumaran’s car purchases have often made news. His recent purchase of a Lamborghini Urus after trading in his Huracan from the Italian car manufacturer caught the attention of many. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about car collection, which he says isn’t as stellar as Dulquer Salmaan’s.
Taking to Indiaglitz ahead of his next film Kaduva, Prithviraj said that he isn’t a car collector per se. “I like automobiles and as life progresses and as I become fortunate enough to afford nicer cars, once in a while I buy a new one,” he said, talking about his Lamborghini Urus that costs between Rs 3 Cr and Rs 3.5Cr.
The actor, however, said that his collection pales in comparison with Dulquer’s. “He has an amazing car collection and he deserves it because it’s truly a passion for him. Dulquer does it as a true automobile enthusiast. I would like to do a documentary on his car collection. It is that good,” said Prithviraj, who also owns a Land Rover Defender 110, Range Rover Vogue, Porsche Cayenne and BMW 760LI.
During the pandemic lockdown, both Dulquer and Prithviraj were spotted by fans while driving on the Kottayam-Kochi highway in their Porsche and Lamborghini Huracan, respectively. The duo has become close since the pandemic, probably bonding over the interest for cars and cinema. Both Dulquer and Prithviraj were in Hyderabad on Saturday promoting their respective films Sita Ramam and Kaduva, respectively.
Incidentally, there are also rumours that the duo will be teaming up for Abhilash Joshiy’s King of Kotha, which has Dulquer in the lead. Prithviraj was earlier considered for a cameo role in the gangster thriller. With the Kaduva actor busy with several commitments including Kaapa, Vilayath Buddha and Salaar, it remains to be seen if he will be part of the movie, which is set to go on floors by August end.
