Prithviraj Sukumaran is on the verge of completing 20 years in Malayalam cinema and is now a superstar, who is also extending his wings to other industries. Ahead of the release of his movie Theerppu, the actor talked about why now is the best time for film aspirants to enter the industry easily and also what makes Mohanlal and Mammootty’s stardom special.

Talking to 24 News, the actor said that aspiring artistes can now get noticed if they do an interesting Insta Reel. “If you want to be a cinematographer, you don’t need anyone’s help to do a 5-minute or a 10-minute short film that is shot on an iPhone. So, if you genuinely have the talent and the skill, I think you will get noticed soon and get an opportunity,” said the actor, adding that there are also people who don’t get those chances.

Prithviraj also said that he was aware that there are lakhs of people out there who are much more talented than him and more deserving but are yet to break into the industry. “And that’s the driving force behind my hard work,” he said.

The Kaduva actor further explained that a lot of people have told him that if they got one opportunity, they can make it big. “Nothing will happen with just one chance,” he said. Even if an actor’s debut film becomes a superhit, the journey will only begin, said Prithviraj. “It’s a continuous process. That’s why I keep saying that Lalettan and Mammukka becoming superstars isn’t their achievement; it’s to sustain that superstardom from then till now. That’s the true achievement. People in cinema will understand that better.”

Prithviraj is set to direct Mohanlal again in Empuraan next year. The actor’s upcoming release is Alphonse Puthren’s Gold, which also has Nayanthara as part of the film. The movie is set to hit theatres on September 8.
