Prithviraj Sukumaran praise for this Malayalam thriller comes 2 years late but director is still overjoyed

Malayalam actor and filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran recently expressed heartfelt appreciation for director Abhinav Sunder Nayak, commending the latter's storytelling skills. However, Prithviraj's appreciation for Abhinav comes two years after the release of the director's legal thriller, Mukundan Unni Associates, in 2022 .

Prithviraj, who only recently managed to view Abhinav's film, took the time to write to the director, sharing his excitement about the movie.

Despite the delayed appreciation, Abhinav was humbled and overjoyed by Prithviraj's words. In a message shared on his social media handles, Prithviraj wrote, "Hi Abhinay. This is Prithviraj Sukumaran. Although it's been on my watch list for the longest time, for some reason, I could only get around to watching it today. So apologies for the unfashionably late appreciation message. Absolutely loved Mukundan Unni. Beautifully written and equally well-shot. Really liked the quirkiness in the making and writing language. Looking forward to your next."

As the saying goes, better late than never right?

Mukundan Unni Associates and its inspiration

Mukundan Unni Associates takes an obvious inspiration from Nightcrawler. The 2014 Hollywood thriller stars Jake Gyllenhaal as an ambitious sociopath with high intelligence. The film revolves around how Lou, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, manoeuvres his way into the TV news business with minimal investment and resources, rising to a position of power with sheer ruthlessness. Nightcrawler is available for streaming on Google Play Movies and Apple TV+.

Similarly, Mukundan Unni Associates tells the story of a very ambitious young lawyer named Mukundan Unni, who exploits every opportunity and tragedy without the slightest feeling of guilt to propel his career to a whole new level. Vineeth Sreenivasan delivered a very convincing performance as a sociopathic lawyer with no moral boundaries.

Abhinav has expressed his intention to make a sequal to Mukundan Unni Associates.
