It’s back-to-back big ventures for Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran. The actor, who is currently shooting for Salaar in Hyderabad, is expected to complete the film’s India schedule before he joins his second Bollywood film this year.
Prithviraj took to his social networking page on share that he has wrapped up his work in the India schedule of Ali Abbas Zafar’s action-comedy drama Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which has Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in the lead. The Malayalam star, who is rumoured to be essaying the antagonist in the film, wrote that he is already excited for the film’s next schedule that will be shot in Scotland. Prithviraj is also the co-producer of Akshay Kumar's upcoming movie Selfiee, which is remake of Driving Licence.
The actor will first wrap up his portions in Prabhas’ Salaar, which is helmed by KGF director Prashanth Neel. The big budget film, which is produced by Hombale Films, will also have a two-week schedule in Italy with Prithviraj and Prabhas. While it was earlier rumoured that the Ayyappanum Koshiyum star will be playing the antagonist in the film, Prithviraj refuted these reports. “It’s not like Prabhas is the hero and I am the villain in the film,” he said, in a media interaction in Kochi in December 2022.
Prithviraj, meanwhile, is also part of Ibrahim Ali Khan’s debut film, which is reportedly set against the backdrop of terrorism in Kashmir. The movie, which is helmed by Kayoze Irani, also has Kajol as part of the cast. “I play a Malayali named Vijay Menon. The film’s director told me that the Hindi accent doesn’t have to be pitch perfect because it’s a Malayali character. That’s not how I work. I sit with a diction coach and learn it,” said the actor, in an earlier interview.
In Malayalam, Prithviraj has wrapped up his shoot for Vilayath Buddha that is directed by Jayan Nambiar and scripted by GR Indugopan. The movie, which also has Shammi Thilakan and Priyamvada Krishnan, was initially set to be helmed by the late filmmaker Sachy, who had directed Ayyappanum Koshiyum and Anarkali.
Meanwhile, the actor is also set to finalise the locations for his directorial, Empuraan, which is set to go on floors by mid 2023.
