Prithviraj Sukumaran's Prithviraj Productions has collaborated with Reliance Entertainment to release the Malayalam version of the much-anticipated film 83 in theatres this Christmas. The Malayalam actor, whose directorial debut Lucifer is the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time, expressed his excitement about presenting the Malayalam adaptation of 83.

As per ANI, the actor-filmmaker shared that the incredible true story of the Indian cricket team's greatest triumph in 1983 is told in 83. Prithviraj called it an engrossing story that deserves to be told, and he is proud to present one of the most anticipated films in India and the rest of the world.

Kabir Khan, the film's director and producer, also stated that they are honoured to have Prithviraj Productions on board to support the release of 83 in Malayalam. He added that the film has pan-India connections, and with Prithviraj's backing, it is sure to appeal to the local audience.

Ranveer Singh will be seen in the role of Kapil Dev in 83. Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Addinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, R Badree, and Pankaj Tripathi also appear in the film.

Deepika Padukone will also appear in a cameo role as Romi, Kapil Dev's wife.

83, a Kabir Khan Films production, is presented by Prithviraj Productions and Reliance Entertainment. Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment, and 83 Film Ltd. produced the film.

The teaser for the sports biographical film was unveiled a couple of days back. The trailer is set to be released on November 30, 2021, much to the excitement of the fans. 83 is slated to hit the big screens on December 24, 2021, just in time for Christmas.
