This year, Prithviraj Sukumaran is going all-out to woo fans to theatres. While he began the year with the feel-good Bro Daddy, his theatrical releases Jana Gana Mana and Kaduva have managed to bring Malayalam audience to the theatres due to their scale as well as the entertainment they offered. But the upcoming film Gold could be his biggest crowd-puller yet.

The movie marks the comeback directorial of filmmaker Alphonse Puthren, whose previous film Premam is one of the highest grossers in the industry. Gold, which also has Nayanthara in the lead, has a host of stellar actors as part of its cast. And now we hear that Prithviraj will also have a dance sequence with Deepti Sati in the film.

Prithviraj and Deepti had earlier shared screen space in Driving Licence, in which the duo had played the roles of a husband and wife. In Gold, the two will have a dance number, as per reports. Gold has an ensemble cast that also includes Roshan Mathew, Chemban Vinod Jose, Jagadish, Vinay Forrt, Lalu Alex, Shabareesh Varma, Ajmal Amir, Prem Kumar and Mallika Sukumaran.

The director had said that the movie is a “simple film” with 40-odd characters. Apart from the 32 artistes featured in its first look poster that was released in June, the movie is also expected to have a few surprise cameos.

Gold is expected to hit theatres during Onam and clash with Biju Menon’s Oru Thekkan Thallu Case, Mammootty’s Rorschach, Nivin Pauly’s Padavettu and Basil Joseph’s Paaltu Janwar. The cast and crew of Gold, along with it being Alphonse’s next directorial after Premam, tilts the expectations in the film’s favour.

Ajmal Amir, in an earlier interview, had told us that the film is an all-out entertainer and tackles a genre that people have previously seen in Hollywood movies but has never attempted in Malayalam.
