Prithviraj's Kaduva release postponed; film to now hit screens on July 7

It looks like Prithviraj's much-awaited release Kaduva, which was supposed to release worldwide on June 30, has been pushed by a week. The film also stars Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi and is touted to be an action thriller. The news has got fans of Prithviraj elated as it marks his comeback to the action genre after almost a decade. But now, the news of the postponement of release, has come as a surprise and disappointment to many. The actor made the announcement of the postponement of the release and said that he had to push it due to unforeseen circumstances.

The actor wrote on his social media handle, "Bigger the dreams, larger the obstacles. Stronger the enemies, harder the fight! #KADUVA release has been postponed by one week to 07/07/2022 due to unforeseen circumstances. We will continue with all promotional activities as scheduled and keep faith in all your love and support for this mass entertaienr. We deeply apologise to all the fans, distributors, and theatre owners across the world (sic)." 

Kaduva is directed by Shaji Kailas and has been written by Jinu V Abraham. Samyuktha Menon plays the leading lady in it. The plot revolves around a rubber planter with a lot of clout, Kaduvakunnel Kuruvachan and is set in the '90s. The portions have been canned across Pala, Vandiperiyar, Mundakkayam, Ernakulam and Erattupetta. 

Prithviraj has been riding on a high after his films like Ayyappanum Koshiyum and Jana Gana Mana recently received critical acclaim and did well on the digital platforms as well. The Kaduva team is also planning for a pan-India release and they have a clinched a deal with Amazon Prime Video for the OTT release, after the four-week theatre run. Prithviraj’s Cold Case, Kuruthi and Bhramam had earlier released directly on OTT, that too, on the same platform.
