From the time Tamil director Atlee’s collaboration with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan, was announced, there has been speculation that Priya Mani was also a part of the star-studded ensemble cast. Soon enough, it became confirmed news with reports suggesting that she had joined the set of the film, but every time Priya fielded a question about whether she was indeed a part of Jawan, she deflected it with a simple ‘No comments’. She was not going to provide confirmation to the rumours until and unless the production house deemed it fit to do so.

It appears that she’s finally got a green signal from the makers to confirm what everyone knew all along. Shortly after Shah Rukh Khan, director Atlee and the production house shared the release date teaser, it appeared on Priya’s feed as well. “#Jawan #7thSeptember2023”, is all she wrote along with the post. A quick text to her asking if this was her way of confirming her casting, she replied, “Looks like it”, accompanied with a wink-eye emoji.

Priya Mani’s earlier collaboration with Shah Rukh was when the two of them shimmied to the hit number from Chennai Express, 1 2 3 4 Get on the dance floor. It is being sad that the actress is doing yet another special number in Jawan, set in jail, but yet again, Priya is yet to affirm or deny this. Well, we will know for sure if she’s only got a song or finally gets more screen time with the superstar on September 7. Priya Mani, who has made a name for herself on OTT as well, with a recurring role on the popular The Family Man, among others, was recently announced as a cast member of Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming Venkat Prabhu film, Custody.

Meanwhile, Jawan, which also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, comes three weeks ahead of the big-ticket pan-India release of Prabhas’ much-awaited Salaar.
