Priyadarshan shares his excitement about daughter Kalyani acting with ‘boon companion’ Mohanlal

Prithviraj’s Bro Daddy is special in more ways than one. Apart from the actor-director sharing screen space with Mohanlal again in the film, the movie will also have Kalyani Priyadarshan working with the veteran superstar for the first time ever. 

Director Priyadarshan was equally delighted about the prospect and took to his social media page to share his excitement. “It’s one of the greatest moments God has gifted me today, my daughter Kalyani acted with my boon companion Mohanlal,” wrote the director, thanking Prithviraj and the film’s producer Antony Perumbavoor.

Bro Daddy, which is currently being filmed in Hyderabad, is a feel-good family entertainer that also has Murali Gopy, Soubin Shahir, Kaniha, Unni Mukundan, Lalu Alex, Meena and Jagadeesh. The team had kickstarted the shoot of the movie two weeks ago with Prithviraj and Kalyani and had also released the first still from the film on that very day.

While it’s the first time she is acting with Mohanlal, she is also part of the superstar’s big budget film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, which is directed by Priyadarshan. The actress had shared screen space with Pranav Mohanlal in the movie. She again teamed up with Pranav for Vineeth Sreenivasan’s coming-of-age tale Hridayam, which also has Darshana Rajendran as one of the leads. 

Kalyani is also awaiting the release of her Tamil movie Maanadu, which has Silambarasan in the lead and is directed by Venkat Prabhu. In Malayalam, she has also signed Sethu’s upcoming directorial Maheshum Marutiyum, which has Asif Ali in the lead and revolves around a Maruti 800. The movie is expected to go on floors this year.
