Priyanka Chopra Jonas is constantly in the news, either for her powerful onscreen performances or her adorable family life with daughter Malti Marie and husband Nick Jonas. Now, the global icon is set to replace Zoe Saldana as the lead of The Bluff, produced by the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe. After shifting platforms from Netflix to Prime Video, the film seems to be finalising important details as the commencement date of production nears.
Bob Marley: One Love’s Frank E. Flowers will be directing the AGBO production venture, while The Boys fame Karl Urban is in talks of joining the cast. If it is confirmed, The Bluff will surely be garnering a lot of buzz and attention from fans of the MCU, The Boys, and PC herself.
Priyanka Chopra stars as a female pirate in The Bluff. Her Instagram post and its playful caption from Mark Twain highlight her enthusiasm for the role. Her excitement as a strong woman is understandable, as the closest encounter she had with a raiding ship and pirates was a Bollywood dance sequence in the 2004 film Aitraaz.

Set in the 19th century, the period film will follow the journey of a former female pirate and how it is never too late for our past sins to catch up to us. The Bluff follows the arduous struggle put up by a former female pirate to save her family and village from a brutal sea robber attack on their remote Caribbean island.
The film will commence production in June 2024. AGBO production’s success, previously with the Extraction franchise on Netflix and the multi-Academy Award winner Everything Everywhere All At Once, has established Anthony and Joe Russo as formidable figures in the production department as well. If all goes well, The Bluff may snag quite a few nominations at the awards next year.
