Priyanka Chopra reveals the REAL reason why she moved to Hollywood: Was tired of the politics

For the first time, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has shared the actual reason she began seeking jobs outside of Bollywood in the US. When the actor decided to become a singer in the US, she was already known as one of the biggest Bollywood stars. She has now admitted that the work she was receiving from Bollywood did not make her the happiest.

Priyanka said she would discuss the real reason she was looking for work in the US for the first time on Dax Shepherd's podcast, Armchair Expert because she felt safe doing so. She claimed that while filming for Saat Khoon Maaf, Desi Hits' Anjula Acharia recognised her from a music video and called her. She inquired whether she would be considering a music career in the US.

Priyanka, at the time, was also looking for a way out of Bollywood. The actor claimed that, in business, she was being forced into a corner. She was not good at playing that game; people didn't cast her, and she had disagreements with them. So Priyanka was kind of sick of politics and declared that she wanted a break.

This music-related opportunity allowed her to travel to a different part of the world, not so much to obtain the movies she didn't want but rather to socialise with particular clubs and groups. That would involve grovelling, and Priyanka had worked so long by then that she didn't feel like she wanted to do it.

So, when this music-related project was announced, the actor said, "F**k it; I'm going to America." She talked about all the famous singers she had collaborated with, including Jay-Z, Pitbull, Will.I.Am, and Pharell Williams. Although her musical endeavours did not succeed, she soon realised she was far better at her day job.

Then someone told her to look for acting jobs in the US, which she did, and she finally won the leading role in ABC's Quantico. Since then, Priyanka has been seen in Baywatch, Matrix: Revolutions, and The White Tiger. She will soon headline her second show, Citadel. In May, she will also have a movie called Love Again out.
