Well-known film producer, former media personality Mahesh Koneru breathed his last earlier this morning. He was in his late 30s and died of cardiac arrest. Mahesh is survived by his wife and a young daughter. He started his career as a film critic and rose to prominence quickly. He shifted gears towards the PR space soon and floated his own company as well. He acted as a bridge between the media and the film fraternity, and was the PRO of top actors like Jr NTR, his brother, actor Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. He turned a producer recently, having bankrolled films like 118, Naa Nuvve, Miss India and the courtroom drama Thimmarusu.

Two of Mahesh's films are currently under production - namely Sabhaku Namaskaram and Police Vari Hecharika. Mahesh handled the publicity of some high-profile Telugu films like the Baahubali franchise, Kanche, to name a few. He also distributed a few Tamil movies that were dubbed into Telugu, including Bigil and Master, both featuring Tamil film star Vijay. As a media personality, he always remained friendly and accessible to film journalists across the country and was extremely professional, meticulous with his work.

Several celebrities including Raashi Khanna, Jr NTR, Kona Venkat expressed their shock at his sudden death.

Mahesh's passion for cinema shone through in most of the roles he took up in his career. He had a distinct taste for films and it certainly reflected in the projects he ended up associating with. He played a few cameos in some films and enjoyed photography immensely and wanted to do his bit with agriculture too. His passing away is a huge loss for the media fraternity and the film industry alike. OTTplay.com prays for the family of the deceased and extends its sincere condolences.
