On the occasion of Guru Purnima, it was announced that Nag Ashwin directorial has finally gone on floors. The film features Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The film is tentatively titled Project K and Big B had kickstarted the shoot of the project. Columnist Manobala Vijayabalan took to his Twitter page and gave an update regarding the mammoth project.
He tweeted, "Regular shoot of #ProjectK to commence from November. Film will be shot for the whole of next year. Approximately 12-13 months of shoot planned. Entire cast to join the sets from Nov 2021. #AmitabhBachchan #Prabhas #DeepikaPadukone #NagAshwin."
The film shoot will take place in Hyderabad and the shoot is likely to end by towards the last half of 2022.
Bachchan started shooting for the film in July while Deepika who recently wrapped the shoot of Shakun Batra directorial will kickstart from November. Similar for Prabhas, the actor is currently filming for Adipurush in which he plays the titular role.
It's being reported that Project K is touted to be an expensive film and set against the backdrop of the sci-fi genre. The forthcoming film marks the 21st film of Prabhas. With this project, iconic Vyjayanthi Movies enters its 50th year in the film industry. Moreover, reports have it, the budget of the film is over Rs 500 crore and is set against the backdrop of a fictional World War 3 setup.
This is the first time Prabhas and Deepika are teaming up on the big screen. Meanwhile, Big B and Deepika are teaming up for the fourth time after Aarakshan, Piku and also The Intern.
The release date of Project K is yet to be announced but it's likely to happen in 2023.
