Zee Bangla’s new serial Alor Koley stars Swikriti Majumdar, Koushik Roy, and Somu Sarkar. There is also a young actress, Rishita Nandy.
After years, Prosenjit Chatterjee returns to television. He is returning not as an actor but as a producer. The new serial Alor Koley will start on Zee Bangla. It stars Swikriti Majumdar, Koushik Roy, and Somu Sarkar. There is also a young actress, Rishita Nandy. The story revolves around how a mother will be by the side of her motherless child. Another woman will be like her mother. Prosenjit's production house is making this serial.
Prosenjit previously produced the groundbreaking serial, Gaaner Oparey, directed by Rituparno Ghosh. He then produced Kanakanjali. Now he returns after 12 years. In the meantime, the characters of the serials and the audience have changed and the serials’ longevity decreased. Previously, a serial went on for decades and the characters became household names. But nowadays TRPs are everything. A serial can end within months. Does it require extra caution from a producer? Prosenjit said that competition is tough nowadays because of so much content in films and OTTs. So there are risks and challenges. But it is part of life.

Why are serials like Gaaner Oparey not made anymore? Prosenjit clearly said that Ganer Opare's time is gone. “Only one man could do that and he was my friend. If someone does such a serial, I will be very happy. But it requires TRP. Writing on Facebook is not enough. I did not think about the cost when I made Ganer Opare. The serial indeed made history. But the audience has to watch it. If they watch, such serials will definitely be made,” he said.
Alor Koley will start on November 27. Prosenjit hopes that people will love the story.
