Debutant director Naveen Dwarakanth, who is making the transition from short films to features with For Regn, has just revealed the film’s first look teaser. The film has Dia-fame Pruthvi Ambaar and Love Mocktail’s Milana Nagarj in the lead, and going by the visuals, appears to be an intense love story. The film also stars Tabla Nani, Sudharani, Babu Hirannaiah, Sudha Belawadi and Aravind Bolar in pivotal roles.

The film’s first look revelation also included its release date announcement. Turns out, For Regn will be in theatres on February 10, 2023. The feel-good romantic drama will be ideal in the Valentine’s Day week release, says the team.

Milana, for whom the film will be an early anniversary gift (She celebrates her second wedding anniversary with Love Mocktail co-star Darling Krishna on February 14), spoke about For Regn, saying that when she was approached for the role of Anvi, she decided to listen to the script after hearing the title, which she felt was very catchy. “Naveen narrated the script like a school lesson, including a blackboard, on which he wrote notes. I was quite impressed with how passionate he was about his subject. Also, at the time, Pruthvi had already been finalized as the leading man, and I had seen his film Dia, in which I loved the way he carried his character. So, having him as my co-star was an added bonanza,” she said.

Pruthvi echoed Milana’s thoughts about how passionate both the director and producer were about the project. “Their passion reflects in the first-look teaser of the film. The entire film is just as good and cute, which I realised when I was dubbing for my role. When we began shooting, I was excited about working with Milana, but also a tad nervous, because I know her calibre as an artiste. Also, her Love Mocktail and my film Dia had released around the same time and back then, one of the discussions in our team was about how our movie could have done even better at the box office if hers was not around,” he said with a smile.
