October 29 marks the first death anniversary of Puneeth Rajkumar and fans, well-wishers, and industry insiders have been leaving no stone unturned to celebrate his legacy. In this vein, Dr. Rajkumar Fans from across the state convened recently in Bengaluru to announce that they are organizing a special programme to honor Puneeth Rajkumar’s grand legacy, ahead of the first death anniversary. What’s been termed as 'Puneeth Parva', the grand event will be held on October 21 at 6:30 pm in Bengaluru’s Palace Grounds.
To make this evening all the more special, the event will see the biggest of South Indian superstars in attendance. As revealed by the fans association, Kannada superstars Yash, Sudeep, Daali Dhananjaya, Darling Krishna, and others will be seen participating in the celebration of Puneeth Rajkumar’s legacy and they will be joined by fellow actors such as Suriya, Prabhudeva, Rana Daggubati, Tollywood superstar Balakrishna, veteran actor Kamal Haasan, and several others. A member of the fans association added at the press meet that the event will not include passes or invites and fellow fans can attend the event without any worries. Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, reportedly, has played an instrumental role in the organization of the event.
Puneeth Parva will also serve as a pre-release event for the upcoming docudrama Gandhada Gudi which marks Puneeth Rajkumar’s final on-screen appearance. Fans across the state have been striving hard to help Gandhada Gudi become 100% tax-free and have implored the state authorities to consider the film’s artistic merit and social value as the criteria.
Gandhada Gudi, directed by documentary filmmaker J.S. Amoghavarsha, releases in cinema halls on October 28. The film is centered on the glorious journey undertaken by Puneeth Rajkumar and Amoghavarsha as they traverse the rich and vibrant land and waterscapes of Karnataka. As a grand exploration, Gandhada Gudi also captures Appu’s creative ambition to showcase his home state’s true beauty and charm and fans have been keenly looking forward to experiencing the film on the big screen.
Quite indeed, Puneeth Parva will become a memorable evening with the involvement of all the many superstars. Following Puneeth’s tragic passing in 2021, actors and other members of the film fraternity flew down to Bengaluru to personally pay their respects to the Powerstar and share the grief with the family.
