The whole of Karnataka is celebrating Puneeth Rajkumar's 48th birth anniversary today (March 17th) and special tributes are pouring in from all corners. Fans, admirers and film fraternity members alike have dedicated endearing posts to the late superstar and one such very heartwarming dedication comes from actor Dheeren Ramkumar's end.
Dheeren, who also happens to be Puneeth Rajkumar's nephew, decided on rendering two of the Powerstar's popular songs and remember him on the special day. Surprising everyone with his impressive vocal skills, the young star in the making first sang the track Bhuvam Sharanam from the 2008 film Vamshi. Having struck the right chord with this emotional piece, Dheeren then sang the more fun and upbeat Guruvara Sanje from Power, a song that Puneeth Rajkumar himself rendered for the film.
Fans and followers of Dheeren were impressed not only with the lovely gesture but also with his singing. "Nim voice boss voice tarane 2nd song super," said a user, saying that the Shiva 143 actor's voice is quite similar to that of Puneeth Rajkumar. Dheeren Ramkumar's sister and fellow actor Dhanya Ramkumar, too, shared praise for the efforts with a heart emoji.
The tribute song is accompanied by a montage of some of Puneeth Rajkumar's most memorable moments including his parents, Dr. Rajkumar and Parvathamma Rajkumar, wife Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and others.
Social media, too, is brimming with messages and tributes to Puneeth Rajkumar. Following his tragic passing in October of 2021, the entire state of Karnataka came to a sudden halt with a vast shadow of grief enveloping the entire region. Many superstars from other film industries, such as Jr. NTR, Venkatesh Daggubati, Chiranjeevi, and others, came down to Bengaluru to pay their tributes to his mortal remains.
Recently, Puneeth Rajkumar was conferred with a doctorate by the Mysuru University with the Karnataka government bestowing the Karnataka Ratna honour upon him.
