God is coming soon, proclaims every poster of the upcoming Kannada film Luckyman. And fans can’t wait for it because god, in this case, is the late Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar. Appu, as the actor was popularly known, plays god in director Nagendra Prasad’s upcoming directorial, which is rumoured to be a September 2 or 9 theatrical release. In the meantime, though, the team is looking at giving fans of the late Power Star a treat in the form of the much-publicized dance number featuring Puneeth and Nagendra’s brother, choreographer-director-actor Prabhudeva.

Called Baaro Raaja, the song will be released on August 23, albeit as a lyrical video only. No doubt, there will be some glimpses of the Power Star and Prabhudeva burning up the dancefloor, which should keep fans happy. The full song, of course, will have to be seen when the film opens in theatres. The teaser of the film did have a few fleeting visuals from the song, but it would be interesting to see the full choreography, given that two wonderful dancers share the stage.

Luckyman, meanwhile, has Darling Krishna, Roshni Prakash and Sangeetha Sringeri in the lead. Puneeth’s role is a pivotal cameo, but what makes it even more important is that it will be his last commercial film outing. His only other release, later this year will be Gandhada Gudi, but that is a docu-feature that he shot with Wild Karnataka maker J Amoghavarsha. Gandhada Gudi is the late Power Star’s dream project and is about the forests of Karnataka. It releases in theatres on October 28, on the occasion of his first death anniversary.

After Puneeth’s tragic demise, it had been revealed that the actor had not dubbed for his role in Luckyman, but since his scenes were predominantly shot indoors, the team was confident of salvaging the audio that was recorded during the shoot for the final mix. There is a shot of Puneeth in the teaser of the film and the audio quality was quite good.
