Allu Arjun and Sukumar, the celebrated actor-director duo is reuniting for the sequel to their blockbuster film, Pushpa: The Rise. The much-awaited second part, which has been titled Pushpa 2: The Rule, is gearing up to hit the big screens on December 5, 2024. Expectations are riding high on the film, especially after the release of its electrifying trailer. Pushpa 2 has now completed censor board formalities and the runtime of the Allu Arjun starrer is now officially locked.
Reportedly, Pushpa 2: The Rule has bagged a U/A certificate from the censor board. The Allu Arjun starrer has a total runtime of three hours, 20 minutes, and 38 seconds. Thus, the Sukumar directorial has officially emerged as one of the longest films produced by the Indian film industry in recent times. If the reports are to be believed, the first half of Pushpa 2 has a runtime of one hour and 40 minutes, while the second half has a runtime of around one hour and 41 minutes.
The netizens, especially the cinephiles who are not so impressed with the excessively 'massy' trailer and underwhelming ‘Kissik’ song from Pushpa 2, are quite skeptical about the film’s excessive runtime. Some internet users feel that director Sukumar and his team might be going overboard with the mass elements and action sequences of Allu Arjun’s film, owing to the massive pre-release hype. However, others are defending the same, suggesting many recent blockbusters including Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal, had massive runtime and still made wonders at the box office.
