Fahadh Faasil will reprise his role as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS in Pushpa: The Rise

The long wait is over and Fahadh Faasil, who had spent a long time last year contemplating whether to be a part of Pushpa: The Rise, will join the sets of the Allu Arjun-starrer in Hyderabad from February 20.
Fahadh will be reprising his role as the antagonist, Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS, in the Sukumar directorial, which has been scaled up multi-fold, following its massive success. The team had begun shooting for the sequel last month.
Fahadh, meanwhile, we hear has been offered a fat paycheck to reprise his role. The actor recently wrapped up the shoot of Kannada filmmaker Pawan Kumar’s Malayalam directorial Dhoomam, which also has Aparna Balamurali and Roshan Mathew as part of the cast. The film marks KGF and Kantara producers Hombale Films’ debut Malayalam production. Fahadh is also rumoured to be play an extended cameo in the Kannada film Bagheera, which is also backed by the production house.
In Malayalam, Fahadh’s next release will be Akhil Sathyan’s entertainer Pachuvum Athbhuthavilakum, which revolves around his character travelling from Mumbai to Kerala and being the link between two women. The film had gone on floors just before the pandemic lockdown and finally wrapped up its production last year. Akhil had shared a recent poster from the movie, while announcing its release date – April 28.
Fahadh has also signed up for three other Malayalam films this year. These include Sudheesh Shankar’s realistic thriller Hanuman Gear, which has him essaying the role of an Idukki-based off-road enthusiast who has to overcome odds in his life, as well as Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela director Althaf Salim’s Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, which is a feel-good romcom.
The Joji actor has also reportedly signed up for a movie with Romancham filmmaker Jithu Madhavan. The comedy entertainer, which will be set in Bengaluru, is produced by director Anwar Rasheed, who had also backed Premam and Bangalore Days.
