Pushpa 2 was released worldwide on a massive scale on December 5, 2024. The action drama hit 12,500 screens globally, and the Allu Arjun starrer has had a strong start at the box office. Interestingly, Pushpa 2 was also released in Saudi Arabia but in a trimmed version.
The original runtime of Pushpa 2 was 3 hours and 20 minutes, but after censorship in Saudi Arabia, it was reduced to 3 hours and 1 minute. Key scenes, including the crucial Jathara episode and several other moments from the second half, were cut as they highlighted the importance of Hindu gods.
Being a strictly Islamic country, Saudi Arabia does not permit films that promote other religions. Unfortunately, the Jathara episode is one of the film’s biggest highlights. Its removal diminishes much of the excitement of watching Pushpa 2 in Saudi Arabia.
Sukumar designed this episode with great care, giving Allu Arjun ample scope to shine. From the song placement to the intense fight sequence featuring Allu Arjun in a saree, the Jathara fight spans over 15 minutes and is a jaw-dropping spectacle. Losing such a pivotal sequence is undoubtedly disappointing for both the makers and the audience in Saudi Arabia.
Pushpa 2 has started strong at the box office and is on track to break records with smashing day-one numbers. Sukumar has once again demonstrated that no one portrays Allu Arjun better than he does in Telugu cinema.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun has left everyone amazed with his remarkable performance in the film. His dances, action sequences, and dialogue delivery are electrifying and leave viewers exhilarated.
Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) has composed the background score for the film, and his songs are a major highlight, blending seamlessly into the narrative. The production, handled by Mythri Movie Makers, is poised to yield substantial profits, thanks to Pushpa 2's roaring success.
In North India, the film has witnessed an increase in the number of screens, reflecting its growing demand. Day one collections are expected to be massive, marking yet another milestone for Allu Arjun and the Pushpa franchise. Stay tuned for more updates.
