Pushpa 2: Shreyas Talpade reveals difficult parts in dubbing for Allu Arjun's Pushpa in Hindi; 'Matching the actor’s emotions and attitude...'

Shreyas Talpade voiced Allu Arjun’s titular character in Hindi in both Pushpa: The Rise and the recently released sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The actor has received immense praise for his dubbing. In a new interview, Shreyas opened up about how he prepared himself for it and also the challenges he faced while dubbing Allu's character in Pushpa 2 in Hindi.

Shreyas Talpade on dubbing Allu Arjun's Pushps 2 character in Hindi

Speaking to Free Press Journal, Shreyas Talpade shared the most exciting yet difficult parts in dubbing Allu Arjun's titualr character in Pushpa 2: The Rulein Hindi.

He said, "The excitement comes from the challenges your work presents. In Pushpa Part 2, Pushpa’s frequent paan-chewing and drinking moments were difficult to replicate with the same intensity. Matching the actor’s emotions and attitude while dubbing these moments was quite challenging, and that made it exciting."

Shreyas Talpade has done vocal excersises

The actor shared that he has done vocal excercises for the dubbing job. "Once you master this, you don’t strain your vocal cords, and it helps keep your voice fresh during long sessions," he said. 

When asked if any specific techniques Shreyas used to capture the ruggedness of Pushpa's voice, Talpade said that in Pushpa Part 2, he understood the character’s journey. He said that in Part 1, Pushpa’s rise came with vulnerability, but in Part 2, he asserted his authority. 

"His body language and voice had to reflect that power while maintaining an element of vulnerability. We use voice exercises from theatre, focusing on voice projection, which helps a lot during dubbing," Shreyas said. 

Pushpa 2: The Rule plot

The sequel continues the story of Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) from the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise. Pushpa Raj rose from a smuggler to a powerful figure in the red sandalwood mafia. He faces new challenges including rivalry with SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahad Faasil). Pushpa goes all out to save her loved ones including her niece Kaveri, who is kidnapped by a villain.

Meanwhile, Pushpa 2: The Rule is running at a theater near you! The movie has been doing exceptionally well at the box office.
