Following the tragic event of a woman dying in a stampede during the Pushpa: The Rule premiere held on Wednesday, the lead actor, Allu Arjun announced Rs 25 lakh as aid to the victim’s family. The actor also put out a video passing his condolences to the bereaving family and how he along with his team is shocked and pained by the instance.

However, this video has drawn the ire of certain section of social media, who called out Allu Arjun for not apologising for the instance, and instead just shared about his pain. The actor who was wearing a Pushpa merchandise hoodie, was also called out for promoting the film even at this grim situation.

Pushpa 2 stampede tragedy: Allu Arjun response’ triggers social media

We had earlier reported that on the day of Pushpa 2’s premiere on Thursday, a woman lost her life during a stampede that occurred in a theatre in Hyderabad. With police force put, Allu Arjun’s visit triggered a mob which resulted in stampede. A 35-year-old woman named Revathy lost her life, with her son battling for life in hospital.

Responding to the situation, Allu Arjun had put out a video passing his condolences to the bereaving family. He said that he along with his team were shocked and saddened by the situation and announced Rs 25 lakh as aid to the family. While wearing a hoodie from Pushpa merchandise, Allu Arjun was called out by a few on social media for not apologising for the instance and diligently promoting his film.

Telangana government bans benefit shows

Following the tragedy, Telangana cinematography minister Komatiredyy Venkata Reddy has announced that the state will not hold benefit or early shows hereon to avoid such instances in the future. He also said that if stars would like to visit theatres, they should get the permission from the government in prior. It is to be noted that the Telangana government had allowed Pushpa makers to hold a benefit show at 9.30 pm on Thursday night, the eve of the film's release and even allowed to hike ticket prices to Rs 800.
