Pushpa 2 - The Rule, sequel to Allu Arjun’s pan Indian hit in 2021, lands in theatres across 5 languages on August 15, 2024, locking horns with Rohit Shetty’s cop saga Singham Returns. Sukumar is directing the film starring Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Fahadh Faasil is the antagonist alongside Rao Ramesh, Sunil, Anasuya, Daali Dhananjaya and others.

Wishing film buffs on the New Year day, the makers of Pushpa 2 shared a new image, re-confirming the August 15 release. The look only reveals Pushpa’s hand, who dons two rings and an ornament wrapped around his wrists. Amidst reports of shoot delays and worries of possible postponement among fans owing to actor Jagadeesh Prathap’s arrest, this comes as a relief.

“Pushpa Raj is coming back this year to rule the worldwide box office. May you all rule your year with ambition & determination and may you get everything you desire for. Happy New Year 2024. #Pushpa2TheRule Grand Release Worldwide on 15th AUG 2024,” the production house shared, unveiling a new hashtag ‘2024 Rule Pushpa Ka’, much to the joy of fans.

Some fans expressed disappointment that a new poster wasn’t released today, though a section asserted that Pushpa 2 will be one of the highest grossing Indian films this year. Devi Sri Prasad has already finished a few songs for the film - the expectations around the music are at an all time high, more so after the National Award win in 2023.

The second instalment of Pushpa is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili under Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with Sukumar Writings. Miresłow Kuba Brożek is the cinematographer for the film while Ram Laxman,Peter Hein, Dragon Prakash, Kecha and Navakanth are the stunt directors. Ruben and Karthika Srinivas are the editors.
