When Devi Sri Prasad composes a folk number, you forget worldly blues, take a back seat, enjoy it to the fullest and get grooving. And his latest song Saami Saami for Pushpa, the Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna starrer directed by Sukumar, is a blast that taps into his strengths as a composer very well. The number, released across Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam versions today, is about a woman going gaga over her man right before her marriage. Be it the way he talks to her or the way he stares at her and even the way he dresses up, she is smitten by him completely.
Rashmika Mandanna, cast as Srivalli in the film, has her sharing many reasons why she has the hots for her on-screen love interest Pushpa, played by Allu Arjun. The best part about the number being that the actress completely enjoys herself while slipping into the skin of character and dancing like there's no tomorrow. Allu Arjun is seen wearing a shirt and a lungi (alternating it with a dhoti later) in various parts of the number, where he's blushing while listening to all the praise that Rashmika is showering upon him.
Lyricist Chandrabose (for the Telugu version) and composer Devi Sri Prasad, who also came together for Sukumar's Rangasthalam and cast a spell on audiences with their music, are back to deliver another quality number, where the lyrical value and the composition work perfectly in sync with one another. The song is shot across lush green fields, lakes, scenic locations in the middle of forests which form the backdrop of the film. Choregrapher Sekhar comes up with innovative moves for the track that's full of colour and life.
Mounika Yadav, a prominent Telugu folk singer, is yet another promising find for the film industry and it won't be surprising if her popularity skyrockets after Saami Saami. Rajalakshmi Senthiganesh, Ananya Bhat, Sithara Krishna Kumar have lent their voice for the Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam versions, lyricised by Viveka, Varadaraj Chikkaballapura and Siju Thuravoor respectively. What's stopping you from watching Saami Saami? You couldn't have asked for a better start to the day.
