Babil Khan, the son of the late actor Irrfan Khan, is scheduled to make his acting debut in Qala. The young actor will star alongside Tripti Dimri, who was a part of Bulbbul. Anvita Dutt has directed Qala, which was produced by Clean Slate Filmz, and founded by Anushka Sharma's brother, Karnesh Ssharma. During a recent conversation with India Today, Karnesh, the film's producer, talked about Babil's acting debut even before the film's completion.
He revealed the one similarity he sees between Babil and his late father, Irrfan. Karnesh said that Babil carries the rawness that Irrfan possessed. He allows him to be himself and express himself; that is Karnesh's personal wish for all of them.
The producer said that Babil is a very young man who is under a great deal of stress. Rather than putting pressure on him, a simple request by Karnesh is that he should be allowed to express himself and enjoy what he has accomplished. The producer believes Babil carries on the rawness and style of acting that Irrfan was known for.
Karnesh revealed that Babil was brought on board for Qala solely based on merit. He tried out for the part, and the NH10 producer didn't know he was Irrfan's son, and neither did Anvita Dutt. Karnesh called Babil a wonderful actor with a lot of potential, and they were ecstatic to be able to introduce him to the world.
The producer believes the young actor has done an excellent job in the film, and he doesn't want to be prejudiced in any way. Thus, Karnesh shared that whoever is with them works hard, and Babil is relieved to be with them.
While the teaser for Qala has been released, the film's release date on Netflix has yet to be confirmed.
