Qismat 2 opts for OTT release on Zee5; see details

Qismat 2, starring Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta in the lead roles, is now going to release on OTT after running in theatres successfully for nearly a month. The film, which won the audiences over, is now opting for a release on Zee5.

Qismat 2 is slated to release on Zee5 on October 29. Thus, the film marks the occasion of Diwali for its release.

The Zee5 release comes in light of the OTT platform launching its Rajj Ke Vekho campaign. Through this campaign, the platform vows to bring some wonderful Punjabi movies to the small screen.

Before Qismat 2, Puaada and Jinne Jamme Saare Nikamme released on Zee5. While Puaada was a theatrical release, followed by its OTT release, Jinne Jamme Saare Nikamme was the first Punjabi movie ever to have a direct-to-OTT release. This news comes as an especially good news since the Punjabi industry has been suffering massive losses since the COVID-19 pandemic halted the theatrical releases.

Qismat 2 is a follow up of Jagdeep Sandhu's Qismat. It is the story of Banni and Shivjeet falling in love during their college days, growing apart and coming back together, only for the confusing relationship status to keep prevailing.

The film completes a month of release on October 23. The Ammy Virk-Sargun Mehta starrer released in theatres on September 23.
