Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story witnesses the rise of an empire and an epic love story in an era that changed the world. The makers have dropped the trailer for the upcoming prequel, which is set to showcase the origin of the legendary tale.

The official trailer begins by introducing India Amarteifio as young Charlotte, who arrives from a land far to marry the King of England. As an obvious young girl, she questions the set-up that has led her to a fate she is not ready to accept. As soon as she reaches the grand palace, she gets informed by the King's mother that she needs to give birth to as many children as she can and that too as soon as she can.

Charlotte instantly starts hating the King, whom she has never met and everything related to him until she meets him in person. Both of them spark a connection as soon as they meet, and the King sweeps Charlotte off of her feet soon. They both get married, however, a huge secret makes the new Queen feel excluded as well as disturbed.

The makers dropped the trailer with a special note on YouTube that reads, "The romance that started it all. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, streaming May 4 only on Netflix. Young Queen Charlotte's marriage to King George of England sparks an epic love story and transforms high society in this "Bridgerton" universe prequel. (sic)."
