When it comes to films with supernatural plots and unexpected endings that take the movie-going experience to a whole new level, M Night Shyamalan’s name comes to the forefront.

He debuted in Hollywood with the film Praying with Anger in 1992 and in 1998 he made a comedy-drama titled Wide Awake. The following year turned out to be Shyamalan’s breakthrough year with the release of the thriller The Sixth Sense, which is his most appreciated movie to date. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for the film. He went on to make a comic book adaptation thriller titled Unbreakable in 2000, a sci-fi thriller called Signs in 2002, and a thriller with period-piece settings called The Village in 2004.

Shyamalan did release a few box office failures after a series of hits till 2004. It’s only in 2015, he made a found footage horror film titled The Visit which was a box office hit giving the filmmaker the push to come out with the psychological thriller Split in 2016, and another thriller titled Glass in 2019 - which are direct sequels to Unbreakable. His TV series for Apple TV+ title the Servant is set to release its third season on the 21st of January next year and has already been renewed for a fourth season.
