Before Disney and the Marvel Cinematic Universe began its domination of global box offices, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy produced by Sony was one of the biggest superhero franchises alongside Fox’s X-Men franchise and WB’s The Dark Knight trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan. Toby Maguire’s portrayal as Peter Parker/Spider-Man is still considered the most definitive version of the character. Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man may not be as revered as the other Spider-Man films but his performance was undoubtedly the most comic-accurate. Tom Holland’s third stand-alone film as Spider-Man, titled Spider-Man: No Way Home, is scheduled to release later this year.
