Friday saw Rocketry: The Nambi Effect starring R. Madhavan and Rashtra Kavach Om starring Aditya Roy Kapur hit theatres around the country. While it was a clash of two pictures on paper, it did not really offer any real fireworks. With both the movies opening on the lower side, Rocketry has increased its haul on the second day while Rashtra Kavach Om has already faced a dip. 

Rocketry opened on Friday with Rs. 75 lakhs nett, failing to even hit the one crore mark. The movie had a more restricted release, as it only opened in limited screens in metro cities. Rashtra Kavach Om on the other hand, had an opening of Rs. 1.25 crore nett.

According to reports, Rocketry has increased its numbers on its second day, managing to collect Rs. 1.25 crore nett at the box office, putting up a box office growth of about 60%. Rashtra Kavach Om on the other hand, met a drop of about 5% as the movie collected Rs. 1.20 crore on day 2. 

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, is based on the life of the former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan. Written, produced, directed and starring Madhavan, the movie follows the scientist in his early days at Princeton to his days of being accused of espionage. The movie has been simultaneously made in Tamil, Hindi and English. 

Rashtra Kavach Om, which is helmed by Kapil Verma, is an action thriller where Aditya Roy Kapur plays a Special Forces soldier who loses his memory while on a mission and has to soon find out answers about his life. The movie also features Sanjana Sanghi, Jackie Shroff, Ashutosh Rana, Prakash Raj and Prachee Shah Paandya in important roles. 

Both Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Rastra Kavach Om are now available in theatres around the country.
