Raakshasa on OTT: First look of Vijay Raghavendra’s SI Hanumappa and team revealed
Raakshasa is the fourth original Kannada web series on Zee5, produced by Tharun Sudhir and directed by Ondu Motteya Kathe producer Suhan Prasad. The series drops on February 20.

Raakshasa, a 7-episode crime thriller, written and directed by Suhan Prasad, the producer of Ondu Motteya Kathe, and produced by director Tharun Sudhir, will drop on Zee5 on February 20, via OTTplay Premium also. The release date announcement had not revealed cast and crew details and featured an image of a blood-thirsty crocodile with a dismembered arm in its jaw. Now, the streamer has revealed the entire cast and crew details, with a poster featuring leading man Vijay Raghavendra.

“SI Hanumappa and team reporting”, read the post. Vijay was joined by Appanna and Jahangeer on the poster, with the crocodile still a major feature. In the backdrop, one can also see other cops cordoning off crime scenes on a river bank and examining evidence. Set in North Karnataka, the series, according to Tharun, will have episodes of average run-time around 25 minutes each. Also on the cast are Mayuri Kyatari, Avinash, Mahadev Hadapad, Abhijit, Hulugappa Kattimani, and Sushmitha BR.
The series has been written by Suhan and Apoorva Kumar, with cinematography by Vivan Vidyut and music by LV Muthu Ganesh. Raakshasa is the fourth Kannada original streamer, following Ayyana Mane, Shodha and Maarigallu. The show is Vijay’s second web series. The first was Hakuna Matata, also a crime thriller, which is on Talkies.
Vijay has a theatrical release too on February 20, which is the sequel to his 2021 film Seetharam Benoy Case No. 18. Called Second Case of Seetharam, the film will also see Vijay investigating murder.
