Raakshasa OTT release date: When and where to stream Vijay Raghavendra-led crime thriller series

The streaming date of Raakshasa, a new Kannada web series has just been announced. The series is the latest offering from Zee5, which had announced a string of originals, including Ayyana Mane, Shodha and Maarigallu, which have already dropped. Raakshasa is the fourth and, according to reports, yet another crime thriller. Zee5 has just revealed the streaming date, with the premiere slotted for February 20, 2026, and that the show has been produced by Tharun Sudhir, the director or films like Chowka, Roberrt and Kaatera , and producer of Elumale . The show will be available on OTTplay Premium as well.

While the platform has not revealed any further details in the teaser besides the fact that the show is set in North Karnataka, it is said that the cast is led by Vijay Raghavendra, along with Appanna, Mayuri, Avinash and Abhijit Rao, among others. Raakshasa will then be Vijay Raghavendra’s second tryst with the web series genre. He’d earlier led a thriller show called Hakuna Matata.

Vijay Raghavendra in cop mode again?

Vijay, incidentally, also has a theatrical release on February 20, with the sequel to his 2021 film Seetharam Benoy Case No 18, Second Case of Seetharam. The film, of course, has Vijay as the investigation officer, looking into a spate of murders. Whether or not he is in a cop role again in Raakshasa remains to be seen. The actor had, in recent times, attempted a change in image with the film Rippan Swamy.

Also, given that it is a Tharun Sudhir production, expectations of Raakshasa are high, especially since none of the earlier shows had failed to make much of a mark. Meanwhile, Zee5’s new Kannada acquisition is the Tulu-Kannada bilingual Jai, directed by Bigg Boss Kannada 9 winner Roopesh Shetty, which will begin streaming from February 6, 2026.
