​​It looks like the last week of the year 2022 is choc-a-bloc with new releases. As the industry gears up for the last Friday of the year, a slew of films including The Great Indian Kitchen to Tamilarasan are set to hit screens. Here's a look at the Tamil releases for the week.

The Great Indian Kitchen
Aishwarya Rajesh is all set to have twin releases this weekend on two consecutive days. The Great Indian Kitchen, the remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, is all set to hit screens on December 29. Starring Aishwarya Rajesh and Rahul Ravindran, the film is a social documentary on the struggles of women stuck in a conservative and patriarchal household. The plot revolves around a newly married woman stuck in the kitchen and the Tamil version is directed by Kannan.

Driver Jamuna
Aishwarya Rajesh's Driver Jamuna, where she plays a cab driver for the first time in her career, is gearing up to hit screens on December 30. In the film, directed by P Kinslin of Vathikuchi fame, Aishwarya will be seen taking on some henchmen who hire her taxi and battle against them. Aishwarya is expected to do some stunts as well in the thrilling ride.

Raangi
Trisha takes the plunge into action avatar with the thriller Raangi, which is helmed by M Saravanan. We hear that Trisha plays a journalist, who goes on a mission to rescue her niece stuck in Uzbekistan. The actress packs a punch, doles out mass dialogues and does some heavy-duty stunt sequences in the film, which also stars Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan.

Director Prabhu Solomon's Sembi will have Kovai Sarala in a brand new avatar, along with Thambi Ramaiah and Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan. The plot revolves around the bond between a grandmother and granddaughter who get separated due to the laxity of authorities.

Tamilarasan
Vijay Antony's long-delayed flick Tamilarasan is all set to hit screens this weekend. The actor plays a person who takes on the policemen after he gets embroiled in a serious issue. The film marks Sonu Sood's return to Tamil cinema and this time around, as a police officer. The star cast also includes Ramya Nambeesan, Sangeetha Krish, Suresh Gopi, Radha Ravi to name a few. The film is directed by Babu Yogeswaran​.​

On My Ghost
The film marks the debut of Bollywood actress Sunny Leone in Tamil as the leading lady though she had signed Shero earlier. Sunny is said to be playing an arrogant queen in this quirky comedy, where she will double up as the hero and villain. The star cast includes Ramesh Thilak, Yogi Babu and Sathish, and is directed by Yuvan of Sindhanai Sei fame.
